“True Grit” is a murder mystery following the murder of Mattie Ross’ (Hailee Steinfeld) father by Tom Chaney (Josh Brolin). In order to find revenge, she hires Reuben “Rooster” Cogburn (Jeff Bridges) to find Chaney. To keep Cogburn honest, Mattie accompanies him on his mission which takes them to the Indian Nations. The two cross paths with Texas Ranger LaBoeuf (Matt Damon) who has come for Chaney for his own. The three become fast, unlikely friends as they travel the badlands of early Western America and each of them learns what it means to have their own true grit put to the test.
