So here we have an interesting take on small screen to big screen adaptations in the form of “The Adventures of Rocky and Bullwinkle”. Where in the past other film adaptations have taken a television series and rebooted it for the big screen Rocky and Bullwinkle takes an original approach. Beginning as if the original TV series was real, Rocky (June Foray) and Bullwinkle (Keith Scott) still find themselves animated and fallen on hard times. Both barely living off the royalties of a series that ended almost 35 years ago. However they aren’t the only ones, the three major enemies of the moose and flying squirrel; Fearless Leader (Robert DeNiro), Boris (Jason Alexander), and Natasha (Rene Russo) have traveled from behind the fall of the iron curtain right into the lap of a TV producer, Minnie Mogul (Janeane Garofalo) who helps bring this evil trio into the real world. Now they’ve become human and have a plan to hypnotize all of America with horrible television. With the help of an FBI agent, Karen Sympathy (Piper Perabo); Rocky, Bullwinkle and their Narrator (Keith Scott) are pulled from their own TV land into the real world as computer generated images and together the three attempt to foil the plot of the Fearless Leader and save America.
