Das Boot is the story of a German U-boat crew who go off to war and experience a lot of successes. Lt Werner joins the crew to write a story of the heroes of Germany. He joins the Captain also known as the “Old Man” because of his experience. The successes at the beginning of the mission soon turn and the hunters become the hunted. The once heroes of the Reich suffer the fears of being blown apart by depth charges and dying at the bottom of the ocean from lack of oxygen. The Captain has to encourage his crew and play a cat and mouse game against the enemy to get his crew safely back to Germany. |
